Therapy services are applicable for individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am most passionate when using a combination of inclusive, culturally responsive/affirming, emotionally focused, and body-centered practices. This includes trauma-sensitive mindfulness, somatic therapy, racial trauma treatment, and systems work. I am aware of how the mental health field has not been safe and equitable for everyone; I strive to both identify and extract the harmful methods and theories which promote bias and widen disparities among certain identities. Though traditional forms of treatment only consider symptoms or individual pathology, I can shift the needed focus on harmful, broken systems which also impact one’s wellness.

Single Sessions (Focused, Brief Therapy)

 How do “Single Sessions” work?

A “Single Session” refers to a single 60-minute session and works best for those who desire brief, focused care or are desiring to try therapy before committing to a therapist. We do not discuss background or historical information but you stay rooted on a current issue with a specific goal for the session. You can expect to have your feelings validated and come out with resources and a plan for the next steps. This should not act as a replacement for regular, consistent psychotherapy and is inappropriate for those in crisis.

This option is billed using an equitable pay model but is self-pay only

Navigating the mental health field as a budding professional can be confusing and overwhelming. Upon completion of a graduate program, many resident/license eligible counselors need support while they acquire their direct hours required for licensure. Not to be confused with clinical supervision, my Resident Therapist services can provide the following:

  • Career path planning

  • Speciality identification

  • Resume/CV creation/editing

  • Professional goals and values clarification

  • Mentorship

  • Burnout prevention coaching

  • Brief Consultation (both in individual/group settings, when available)

An essential component of advocacy and activism is to raise awareness of systemic barriers which affect the wellness of others. I have served in multiple capacities to present a curated combination of data and empathy before government officials, community members, and agency leaders. Having an awareness of issues that affect our most vulnerable, I am experienced both as contributing orator and facilitator at the following venues:

  • Workshops/conferences

  • Virtual and in-person staff trainings

  • Round-table/brainstorming discussions

  • Community Q&A panels

Additionally, many organizations require support to ensure their programs reflect equity and sound mental health practices. I enjoy collaborating with other community agencies, non-profits, academics, and activist efforts to provide the following:

  • Consultation

  • Staff Training

  • Networking

  • Dissertation research support/interviewing

  • Program development and planning
